Volunteer Home Visiting Service:
This is available for people who are experiencing social isolation due to their visual impairment. A volunteer visits for 2 hours each week, usually for a good chat and a cuppa. Activities undertaken together are manifold and varied but can include going for a short outing together, pottering about in the garden or help with correspondence.
Social Clubs:
There are two afternoon clubs that bring visually impaired people together for socialising, sharing and a bit of fun. These clubs are in Dumfries and Newton-Stewart. If that sounds interesting why not ask for details.
Evening Social Club:
There is also a club in Dumfries for people with a visual impairment held in the evening on the last Friday of the month.
Peer Support:
Enables people to talk to other people with a visual impairment about their feelings when they are first diagnosed, or to talk about living with a visual impairment.
